Privacy policy

We built WhatCanIBuyThere to need as little of your data as possible.

Who is responsible

This website is operated by WhatCanIBuyThere. You'll find contact details on the Contact page.

What happens to the budget you enter

Your budget, currency and country choices are used only to work out your comparison. They travel in the address of the comparison page so you can reload or share it. WhatCanIBuyThere doesn't store the budget you type on a server. If you save a comparison to your account, that comparison is stored with your account. Like any page address, though, it may appear in the hosting provider's technical logs (see Server logs).

Cookies and tracking

  • WhatCanIBuyThere itself sets one cookie, only when you sign in, to keep you signed in.
  • Some pages show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show and measure ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first and can change your choice at any time. You can turn off personalised ads at adssettings.google.com and read how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. WhatCanIBuyThere uses no third-party analytics.
  • Fonts are served from the website itself, so no third-party font service is contacted.

Server logs

As with any website, our hosting provider processes technical request data (such as your IP address, the time and the page you asked for) to deliver the site and keep it secure. This happens under the provider's own terms, and WhatCanIBuyThere doesn't use the data to identify visitors.

Your account, reviews and messages

If you create an account, we store your email address, the name you give, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password and the comparisons you save. If you write a review, we store the name and text you enter and show them only after we have read the review. If you send feedback, we store your message and, if you give one, your email address. To limit spam we keep a one-way code derived from your network address, not the address itself. You can delete your account on the account page.

If you write to us

If you contact us, we receive your email address and your message, and we use them only to reply. Please don't include sensitive information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, such as your email correspondence. To exercise these rights, write to us through the Contact page.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll publish the new version on this page with its date. Last updated: 8 November 2026.
