One unit, three cities
Prices are hard to compare when currencies differ. So we put the same product in the same unit side by side, in US dollars. The prices were collected on 5 November 2026 from public shop pages.
| Product | Unit | Istanbul (US$) | Bangkok (US$) | Dubai (US$) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Milk | 1 L | 1.05 | 1.49 | 1.90 |
| Eggs | 10 pieces | 1.79 | 2.12 | 2.12 |
| Rice | 1 kg | 1.62 | 1.46 | 4.60 |
| Bread | 500 g | 1.30 | 1.28 | 1.43 |
| Chicken | 1 kg | 2.75 | 2.65 | 5.85 |
| Potatoes | 1 kg | 0.81 | 1.49 | 1.33 |
| Tomatoes | 1 kg | 2.14 | 2.61 | 2.45 |
A dash means we have no usable price for that product in that city; we never estimate a missing price.
What it does not say
This table does not say a country is cheap or expensive. Brand, pack size and type of shop differ from city to city; the comparison only shows the price of the same kind of product in the same unit.
